Fifth Third Veterans Program

We’re honored to give back to those who have dedicated themselves to serving our country

At Fifth Third we’re proud to support veterans in a variety of ways, including the delivery of military- and veteran-focused financial products and services. We also have a year-round, comprehensive program of veteran and military support in the communities we serve, including commemorative events, supportive outreach, job assistance and facilitating educational opportunities. The Bank’s support culminates in a very public way each November, the month of Veterans Day. We host commemorative events throughout our 10-state footprint that honor past and present servicemen and women.

In 2016, Fifth Third is expanding its successful financial education outreach program, Empower U®, into military and/or veterans organizations. Empower U is one of Fifth Third Bank’s L.I.F.E. (Lives Improved through Financial Empowerment®) programs, which deliver free financial education resources to individuals at every age and stage of life.

For more information about Empower U® and classes offered in your area, contact your local Fifth Third Bank Community & Economic Development Manager.

Showing Our Colors in Gratitude

Fifth Third Bank employees proudly wear our company's lapel pin, and around Veterans Day, we wear a patriotic ribbon to recognize our armed forces. Veterans wear a different commemorative ribbon so that they can be identified and thanked for their service. In this small but meaningful way, Fifth Third Bank salutes the heroes who keep our country free.

"Our employee ribbon program is one of many Veterans Day efforts the Bank undertakes to give something back to those who have given so much," said Chad Borton, executive vice president, head of Fifth Third's Consumer Bank and an Army veteran himself.
Fifth Third has active Military BRGs in many of its regions, including Chicago, Cincinnati, Central Ohio (Columbus), Northwestern Ohio (Toledo), Western Michigan (Grand Rapids) and Tennessee.

Business resource groups throughout the Bank’s footprint work to infuse engagement and inclusiveness into our work environment and culture. The BRGs are open to all Fifth Third employees as members or allies in one or all of the groups.

Our Military BRGs are active in the local community and often work in collaboration with military and veterans organization in projects of service, support and recognition.
