Fifth Third River Bank Run

Setting communities on the path for improvement

Founded in 1977, River Bank Run has become the nation's largest 25K road race—with 21,000 participants and 40,000 spectators from 40 states and 5 countries—and has been the site of the 25K USA National Championships for Men and Women since 1995. Seeing another opportunity to improve the lives of our customers and communities, we pioneered the River Bank Run Feelin' Good Mileage Club, an incentive-based program to motivate kids to stay active.

The Fifth Third River Bank Run was founded to bring economic vitality to Western Michigan:

  • Each year, tourism produces nearly $2 million in revenue for area merchants.
  • Since 2009, the River Bank Run has brought in nearly $1.25 million in charitable contributions to Michigan-based non-profit organizations.
  • In 2015, the official charity was Stand Up To Cancer, which received $1 from every paid race entry, as well as contributions from event participants.
