Protecting your online time with us

Banking online is the norm these days. And for that reason, we need to be overly vigilant when it comes to your personal information. Our secure processes encompass:
  • Encryption – We use the highest standards of encryption available, including the use of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which prevents data from being read, if intercepted during transmission
  • Automatic Time Out – If you are logged into Fifth Third Online Banking and fifteen minutes pass with no activity, your session will automatically time out and you will need to log back in
  • Enhanced Authentication – We have the technology in place that tracks the characteristics of your login session and determines if it is high risk. Depending upon the particular scenario, denial of access may be appropriate to safeguard your information. If access is denied, you will need to use a computer to access Internet banking
Watching over your payouts

Unauthorized payment initiation by unauthorized employees or criminals is an all too easy way for you to become a victim. Fifth Third Bank’s Account Management & Payments (AMP) has several levels of permission type settings that allow you to control payments from your account(s).
  • Access to View Accounts: Managing access to accounts is the first step towards mitigating the risk of potential loss. Fifth Third AMP allows your organization to manage access to accounts across your organization or at the user level
  • Permissions: Can be managed at four different levels—company, division, group, and user. Most permissions are categorized at a company or individual level. Company permissions refer to permissions that apply to the entire company. Per account permissions allow you to set permissions uniquely for one account
  • Dollar Limits: You are encouraged to leverage dollar limits when establishing payment origination permissions for ACH, account transfer, and wire transfer
  • Payments & Transfers: In addition to dollar limits, you have the ability to assign access to payment types and options at broad or detailed levels for each user and across your broader company
  • Payment Approvals: You can set up an approval workflow to determine eligible approvers for payments that require approval. Permissions, established by your company, determine if a payment requires an approval and the workflow determines who can approve, based on the dollar amount and users in the workflow
  • Reporting: Audit reports provide access to changes in user permissions and system activity
